Before welding, we press dimples into the reverse of the dome — emerging on the front face as a cluster of small, rounded protrusions that closely mimic the densely packed seeds of a real sunflower. Most makers settle for far less convincing techniques. Pressing cleanly into 2mm steel demands enormous, precisely controlled force — the kind that hammers can't deliver and commercial hydraulic presses are too slow to make practical.
